PURPOSE: To search exactly a sound source position even in case when a distance between plural sound sources approaches exceeding the diameter of a microphone, by rotating a sound detecting part consisting of two microphones along the measuring plane centering around the pressure receiving face, at the measuring point which approaches an object to be measured.
CONSTITUTION: In case when two microphones 1a, 1b of a sound detecting part are placed against two point sound sources A, B so that a pressure receiving face of microphone pressure receiving parts 2a, 2b becomes parallel to a line C connecting the two point sound sources A, B, when the sound detecting part is moved successively in the parallel direction of the line C and each measuring signal is plotted, the two point sound sources A, B cannot be separated as shown by a full line, but when a position where the microphone pressure receiving face is orthogonal to the line C is maintained and said part is moved successively in the parallel direction of the line C, the two point sound sources A, B are separated as shown by a broken line and its each position (b), (d) can be searched.
