Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A pyrazolecarboxyanilide derivative of formula I (R is H, methyl).
EXAMPLE: 1,3,5-Trimethyl-N-(3-i-propoxyphenyl)-pyrazole-4-carboxyanillide.
USE: It is used as a fungicide in agriculture and horticulture, especially it shows outstanding preventive effect against sheath blight in rice plant and red rust in wheat, further having curative effect and systemic effect into roots.
PREPARATION: The reaction of pyrazolecarboxylic chloride of formula II with 3-i-propoxyanilide of formula III is carried out in an inert organic solvent such as absolutely dried benzene or ether in the presence of a base such as pyridine or triethylamine to give the compound of formula I .
