Abstract:
The invention comprises a method and apparatus for queuing data in a communications device (12). In accordance with the method of the invention, a plurality of input signals (36) are received on input ports (30) of the communications device (12). At least one input signal (36) comprises at least one virtual connection (38). A first unique queue (44) is associated with each virtual connection (38). Data (60) associated with a first virtual connection (38) are queued in the first unique queue (44) associated with the first virtual connection (38).
