Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a furnace (10), a burner (20), a mill (30), a dust coal storage (40), connecting pipes (51-56) with valves (51V-56V) and a CPU (80). In an initial stage of operation, dust coal supplied from the mill (30) is mixed with an air heated by a heater (70) and the mixture is circulated in passages (52,56,55). When the concentration of the dust coal becomes high enough, the mixture is sent to an ignition burner (21) where ignition takes place easily. After this, the dust coal is directly supplied from the mill (30) and burned by a main burner (22).
