Abstract:
The installation has a binary compression heat pump (10) exposed, on the low pressure side, to the heat energy extracted from the drying air. On the high pressure side, this heat energy is used to convert feed water to process steam for heating the drying cylinder of the dryer of the papermaking machine. The air used for drying is preheated in a drying air preheater. In the papermaking machine, the drying air flows in an essentially closed circuit (12) consisting of the drying air preheater (28), the paper dryer (14) of the latter, and a heat-exchanger (18) downstream of the paper dryer (14) and upstream of the drying air preheater (28) with a return line for steam which condenses during the papermaking process. The heat exchanger (18) is in heat-exchanging connection with the degassing device (32) of the binary compression heat pump (10). The moisture-laden air issuing from the dryer (14) is cooled in the downstream heat exchanger (18) to a temperature considerably higher than that of the ambient air.
