PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of parts and to reduce the cost by forming the circular arc parts of U-shaped cross sections bent to the opposite sides at both sides of a curving plate like part, then by performing a curve-forming of the center curving plate like part under drawing it in U-shaped cross section shape. CONSTITUTION:The metal die 14 having the projected part 13 curving in circular arc shape in the range of less than 180 deg. and the metal die 16 having the U-shaped groove 15 corresponding to the projected part 13 are arranged. An intermediate blank 2 is obtd. by curve-forming a strip metal plate 1 via the metal dies 14, 16 with drawing the cross section nearly in U shape from both ends in the longitudinal direction. The intermediate blank 2 has a curving plate- like part 10 at the central part and at the both sides thereof the circular arc parts 11, 12 of U shape bending to the opposite sides are provided in series. The curving plate-like part 10 is then curve-formed in the same direction as the circular arc part with drawing the cross section almost in U shape by using the metal die device providing a mobile die and stationary die. Due to the use of simple and high precision metal die the improvement in the accuracy of parts and reduction in the cost are obtained.
