Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an easy-to-use help function by providing a processor means to display a help message on a display panel by responding to an output from a timer means. CONSTITUTION: When facsimile equipment is in a dial call mode, a number assigned to a pressed key is inputted and displayed on the display panel 54 by pressing one of alphanumerical keys 58. On the other hand, when the equipment is in an alphanumerical mode, a number or a alphabetical character assigned to the key is displayed at a character position on the panel 54 on which a cursor is located by pressing the key 58. In addition, in operation of an operator panel 50, when an excess time delay is detected at intervals of successive key operations or average time delay between plural successive key operations exceeds a predetermined limit, help is automatically given and a help message is displayed on the panel 54 by the equipment. Consequently, the equipment is improved to provide plural process routes to perform a work related to the operation of the equipment.
