PURPOSE: To notify a user whether using environments(temperature/humidity) are adequate for image forming or not.
CONSTITUTION: A patch for density detection is formed on a transfer drum 5 and its density is detected by a density sensor 21. A temperature/humidity sensor 22 detects the temperature and the humidity. An environment deciding device (judging means) 23 judges whether the temperature and the humidity are within the operation guarantee range of an image controller(density correction means) 23 or out of the operation guarantee range. When it is within the operation guarantee range, density correction is performed by the image controller 23 by adjusting exposure, developing bias, transferring bias or the like. When it is out of the operation guarantee range, it displayed on a display panel through a display panel controller 26 and is advised to an user or the like. Thus, the user or the like arbitrarily selects whether to continue image forming even though image quality is more or less deteriorated or to wait for re temperature and the humidity recovering to be within the aeration guarantee range so as to obtain the image of high quality.
