PURPOSE: To set air convection favorable, and achieve a long life of a lamp in a fluorescent lamp apparatus of which reflection plate is embedded in a ceiling surface, and in which lamps and louvers are installed by providing ventila tion holes at positions in the reflection plate facing the louvers.

CONSTITUTION: A reflection plate 10 opened in a lower surface and having an almost trapezoid-shaped cross sectional surface is embedded and disposed in a ceiling surface 11. Fluorescent lamps 12 are mounted in the opened lower surface of the reflection plate, and plural louvers 14 are disposed in a perpendicular direction to a length direction of the lamp 12 under it. Ventilation holes 15 are bored at positions in the reflection plate 10 facing the louvers 14 for composing a fluorescent lamp apparatus. Air around the louvers 14 thus makes convection favorably through the ventilation holes 15, temperature distribution to the length direction of the fluorescent lamps 12 becomes uniform, and blackening phenomenon of the fluorescent lamps 12 can be prevented, thereby a long life of the lamp 12 can be achieved without deteriorating light shielding function of the louver 14.
