Abstract:
Process for preparing highly active hydrotreating catalysts prepared by incorporating a metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, tungsten and mixtures thereof, cobalt or nickel (with a stabilizing amount of phosphorus) into an alumina hydrogel support. The final calcined catalysts have surface areas greater than 300 m<2>/g, crush strengths greater than 80 N and more than 80% of their pore volume in pores having diameters less than 7 nm.
