Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce the circular cylindrical porous metal of network structure having excellent homogeneity by coating and impregnating a circular cylindrical network foamed resin with a specific-viscosity slurry consisting of metallic powder specified in average grain size, and dispersion medium, drying this resin and baking the resin in a moisture-contg. hydrogen atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The network foamed resin (polyurethane foam, etc.) having a circular cylindrical shape (or cylindrical or spherical shape) is coated and impregnated with the slurry of 50 to 1000cps viscosity formed by mixing the metallic powder or metallic oxide powder having 1 to 15mu average grain sizes and dispersion medium. One or >=2 kinds of Ni, Cr, Cu, Mo, V, Ag, Au, Pt, Mn, Fe, W, Co, Pd, Rh and Ti are used for the metallic components and a phenolic resin having about 10 to 10000cp viscosity and a diluent are used for the dispersion medium. This network foamed resin is then baked in the hydrogen atmosphere contg. moisture or carbon dioxide to dissipate the foamed resin, by which the metal is sintered and the circular columnar (or cylindrical or spherical) porous metal is produced.
