Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a modified acetate fiber having a cool and refreshing feeling and a deep color which have never existed and sufficiently practical fiber strength by forming a great number of fine cratered recessed parts on the surface of the acetate fiber. SOLUTION: An acetate fiber kneaded with an ultrafine inorganic substance alone or a conjugate yarn consisting of the acetate fiber kneaded with the ultrafine inorganic substance kneaded with the ultrafine inorganic substance and another fiber is treated with an alkali compound to make at least the surface of the acetate fiber into cellulose. Then the fiber is subjected to enzyme treatment with a cellulolytic enzyme and the part made into cellulose is hydrolyzed and removed to form fine cratered recessed parts on the surface of the acetate fiber. A quaternary ammonium salt is used in the alkali treatment with the alkali compound.
