Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily disinfect medical treatment waste and to discard the waste in a harmless form by pulverizing the medical treatment waste, immersing the pulverized waste into a disinfecting liquid contg. chlorine dioxide and stirring the liquid, then removing the liquid, compressing the waste, circulating the disinfecting liquid obtd. by the liquid removal to a disinfecting process and adjusting the concn. of the chlorine dioxide in the disinfecting liquid according to the detected value of the concn. CONSTITUTION:The medical treatment waste 1 is sent from a hopper 2 to a pulverizing device 5 by the signal from a controller 4 and a supply system 7 for the disinfecting liquid of the aq. chlorine dioxide soln. is connected to a route 6 from the hopper 4 to the pulverizing device 5. The pulverized medical treatment waste is introduced into a stirring tank 9 where the disinfecting liquid 10 consisting of the aq. soln. contg. the chlorine dioxide is housed. The chlorine dioxide is added to this liquid from a chlorine dioxide generator 11 in accordance with the detected value of a sensor S. The medical treatment waste is then transported to the outside by a discharge auger 12 and the liquid is removed therefrom during the transportation. The medical treatment waste is then stored into a storage tank 13. The medical treatment waste is compressed or packaged at need. The residual disinfecting liquid recovered by the discharge auger 12 is recycled to the stirring tank 9.
