PURPOSE: To prevent the effect of suction holes on a copy image, by arranging plural suction hole structures at the bottom of suction boxes, forming the end part of each suction hole between said structures into an opening bent in the section, rendering white the face along which an original is passed, including the wall of each suction hole opening, and by thus reflecting the light from a light source uniformly.

CONSTITUTION: The original 8 moved in the direction of arrow A is sucked through the holes 1a of a belt 1 by suction of the vacuum holes 2 of the suction boxes 7, attached to the belt 1, and rotated and conveyed together with the belt 1. The belt 1 is stopped at the position at which exposure is carried out, and the original 8 is illuminated with light emitted from the light source 4 to expose a photoreceptor to its reflected light. To prevent the part of the holes 2 from being copied when the original 8, the opening 5 having a bent rounded section is formed at the end of each hole 2 of the box 7, the original passing face including the suction hole walls is made white. As a result, the light emitted from the light source 4 passes through mirrors 9, retaining the light intensity approximate to that illuminated, thus perfectly preventing the part of each suction hole 2 from being copied as a shadow.
