PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. in which the emission of smoke during combustion is reduced without detriment to flame retardance, phisical properties and processability inherent to the vinyl chloride resin, by blending specified quantities of aluminum hydroxide, antimony trioxide, other antimony compd. and a plasticizer.

CONSTITUTION: 20W100pts.wt. aluminum hydroxide such as Al2O3.2H2O, 1W 30pts.wt. antimony trioxide such as Thermoquards S (a product of M & T Chemicals), 2W20pts.wt. Sb2O3 and/or Sb2S3 (having an average particle size of pref. 50μ or below) and 15W100pts.wt. plasticizer such as trimellitate are blended with 100pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin.
