Abstract:
To protect the openings (41) situated at the inlet or outlet of the transport plant, between the peripheral area, close to the carrier frame, of a deviation cylinder (20) or roller (20), respectively for the loading or unloading of a transport plant (29) of a belt conveyor (1) which is preferably of the type having one or a plurality of bands or belts or which is a plate or hinge conveyor (1), as well as the front end, close to the cylinder, respectively the roller of the carrier frame thereof (3) and/or the carrier part of the storage plant (13) for this or these cylinders (20), respectively rollers (20), against the risks of accidents due to an inadvertent or unauthorized penetration in such an opening (41), the present invention provides to use a protection unit (2, 22) arranged on top of the space (41) where there is a risk of penetration and situated between the peripheral area of the cylinder (20), respectively the roller (20) close to the carrier frame and the flow edge, close to the cylinder, respectively the roller, of the carrier frame (3) for the transport plant (29) or its front surface close to the cylinder, respectively the roller, from the side of the carrier frame (38) in the direction of the longitudinal medial plane (m) of the conveyor belt (1) normal to the surface, situated on the side of the goods to be transported, of the transport plant (29), at least up to a certain spacing in relation therewith, thereby providing a play to the upper half (29a) and/or to the lower half (29b) of the transport plant (29).
