Title:
HEATING METHOD FOR COAL SLURRY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5853987
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A slurry consisting of coal and an organic solvent is preheated, then raised instantly the temperature to a specific level to shorten the residential time at the temperature level, thus accelerating the pyrolysis of the coal and inhibit the formation of coking substances as by-products.
CONSTITUTION: Coal and an organic solvent, preferably capable of donating hydrogen, are mixed in a slurry mixer 11 and the slurry is preheated at a temperature lower than 420°C. Then, the slurry is heated in the reactor 13 instantly up to 440W520°C and kept at a set temperature of 440W520°C within 10min, preferably within 1min to promote the reaction. The reaction product is fractionated with a distillation column 14 under normal pressure.
