PURPOSE: To discharge easily and economically a settled slurry to the outside of a tank, and to wash a sludge discharge pipe with a simple process by providing a rotary sludge discharge pipe connector for using a part of the main shaft of a rake as a sludge discharge pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge discharge underwater pump 28 equipped with a suction pipe 27 at the lower part of a main shaft 23 of a rake is provided for sucking up a slurry which is scraped together into a sludge collecting pit 22. And the sucked slurry is sent to a sludge discharge pipe 31 through a sludge discharge pipe 29 and a rotary sludge discharge pipe connector 30, and forced out to the outside of the tank. The sludge discharge pipes 29, 30, and the inside of the ro- tary sludge discharge pipe connector 30 can be washed by operating a lift 34 to raise the whole apparatus connected with the main shaft 23 of the rake, pulling out the suction pipe 27 from the slurry stored in the sludge collecting pit 22, and sucking the supernatant water by driving the underwater pump 28.
