Abstract:
PURPOSE:To contemplate an improvement in quality, a reduction in viscosity and purification of a mineral fuel oil, by a method wherein filtration with a filter element is combined with a treatment in magnetic field generated by magnets. CONSTITUTION:Collars 9 of a given height and filter plates 7 made from magnets and having a number of ring grooves and radial grooves, are alternately fitted into a liquid-collecting tube 3 vertically provided within a filtration chamber 1. Metal gauze 8 is joined to the upper surface and the lower surface of the filter plates 7. The outer surfaces of the filter plates 7 and the collars 9 are coated with a filter element 11 such as filter cloth, filter paper. The top of the liquid-collecting tube 3 is capped with a cap 12. A mineral fuel oil such as kerosene or heavy oil is introduced into the sealed filtration chamber 1 by means of a pump 2. Agglomerated sludge and oil which are filtered by the element 11 are subjected to the action of the magnetic field of the magnet. Most of micelles of the sludge is finely divided and dispersed in the oil. The oil contg. finely divided sludge is introduced through liquid-flowing grooves composed of the metal gauze and via liquid-collecting fine holes 10 into the liquid-collecting tube 3, and then discharged through an outlet tube 4.
