Abstract:
PURPOSE:to separate brittle materials with high precision by engaging a sieving step with an electrostatic separation step. CONSTITUTION:A sieving step 7 and an electrostatic separation step 4 are sequentially arranged next to a drying step 6. City waste is treated in a primary mechanical separation step 1 to remove soft poastics, metals, clothes and other non-brittle materials that cannot be converted into compost, and fermented in a fermentation step 3 to form a compost. Plastic films which are non-brittle non-compostizable material are removed in a secondary mechanical separation step 3. A drying step 6 dries the waste to adjust the water content, the heat needed being generated by burning in a incineration step 5 the non-brittle non-compostizable materials separated in the steps 1 and 3. Coarse matters are separated out in a sieving step 7. The electrostatic separation step 4 separate with precision brittle non-compostizable materials such as ceramics, glass, hard plastics and the like, to leave a compost.
