Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain reformed fuel oil having reduced soot and sludge generation, improved fuel efficiency, and lowered NOX emission, by treating a fuel oil with a magnetic field generator composed of a pair of specific permanent magnets placed facing each other. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field generator is composed of a plurality of permanent magnets 2 each having an N-pole and an S-pole and a magnetic flux density of >=1,000G at the surface of the N- and S-pole, and placed facing each other so as to exert repulsive force. Both surfaces of the magnets are placed parallel to the direction of the outlet 12 of a fuel tank 13. The reforming of the fuel oil can be carried out by contacting the fuel oil with said magnetic field generator for at least 3hr. The magnetic field is pref. moved continuously during the treatment. The outlet 3hr. The magnetic field is pref. moved continuously during the treatment. The outlet 12 of the tank 13 is pref. directed to the direction of terrestrial magnetism (i.e. to the north).
