CONSTITUTION: A packaged or unpackaged food material A consisting of an insulating material and housed in a shape-retaining vessel 6 provided with a pair of electrode bodies 7 and 8 on both sides is housed together with an electrically conductive liquid B in an insulating container 1 in which a pair of electrodes 4 and 5 is oppositely provided, and then, energizing action is applied through the electrically conductive liquid B to the food material A and the food material A is subjected to heat sterilization treatment to provide the objective food treated by electrically conductive processing. Furthermore, a pair of electrode bodies 7 and 8 is preferably constituted so as to freely move through the interior of the shape-retaining container 6 or fix in the container 6.
