Abstract:
In a rolling mill drive with axially displaceable articulated spindles (1) arranged between pinions (5) and work rolls (4), the spindle joint is in each case formed by a coupling member (8) having an arcuate toothing (9) and by a coupling sleeve (12) which engages around the said member and is provided with internal toothing (11). The coupling sleeves are pushed onto the necks of the pinion and work roll, respectively. The articulated spindle (1) is guided between the coupling sleeves (12) with the aid of supporting elements (20) arranged in the region of the spindle axis and of axially displaceable pressure rams (14). To compensate the axial displacement of the work roll coupled to the articulated spindle (1), the inner toothing of the coupling sleeve (12) engages over the arcuate toothing (9) of the member (8) with a load-bearing length L which corresponds to at least the degree of axial displaceability of the articulated spindle.
