Abstract:
The invention relates to a piston internal combustion engine whose cylinders (1) are each provided with at least one gas exhaust valve (6) and at least one gas intake valve (5), whereby the gas intake valve (5) is connected to a gas intake channel (7), which is subdivided into two partial channels (7.1, 7.2). Two intake tubes (10, 11), which have different intake tube lengths, and a setting unit (9) are assigned to said partial channels. Either the free flow cross-section of the partial channels (7.1, 7.2) and/or the intake tubes (10, 11) and/or the assignment of the intake tubes (10, 11) to the partial channels (7.1, 7.2) can be set by said setting unit by means of at least one setting element.
