Abstract:
A specific inhibitor product ofr retrovirus reverse transcriptase consists of an organic thio-compound with at least one S-Au link. Said compound may be a thio-glucose, such as 1-$g(b)-D-aurothioglucose, and 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-1-thio-$g(b)-D-glucopyranasato-5-triacetyl-phosphine-or, or an aliphatic thio-compound, such as CH3?-CH2?-CH2?-S-Au.Na2?So3?. It is the active ingredient in a medicinal composition for the treatment and chemical prophylaxis in humans and animals for illnesses caused by the HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, AMV, EIAV, and FLV viruses.
