Abstract:
The treatment system delivers complex pressure pulses to the outer and inner fluid chambers of the internal ear. These pulses have a first pressure component with a varying characteristic and a superimposed component with a given over pressure respectively blocking the exit of fluid from the outer chamber and providing intermittent compression of the inner chamber. Pref. the second pressure component is supplied when the first component reaches its peak value. The pressure variation is provided by modulation of a water column with a frequency of between 3 and 15 Hz.
