PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition giving a coating film having excellent work resistance, solvent resistance and adhesivity, and suitable for the coating of a can for carbonated drink, meat, vegetable, etc., by compounding a bisphenol A epoxy resin with a phenoxy resin and a phenolic resin, etc. at specific ratios.

CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) a bisphenol A epoxy resin with (B) a phenoxy resin and (C) a phenolic resin, and if necessary, adding (D) an acidic catalyst to the mixture. The weight ratio of A:B is 60:40W95:5, that of (A+B):C is 90:10W98:2, and the amount of the component D is 0.1W3pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. of A+B+C.
