PURPOSE: To eliminate mechanical fatigue and prolong the life by fitting magnets to both left and right sides of the lower bottom part of a tipping bucket, and providing WIEGAND effect elements where they are close to the magnets when the tipping bucket is tipped over.
CONSTITUTION: Water of rain and snow received by a water receiver 1 runs into the tipping bucket 2 through the 2nd water receiver 10, and the bucket is tipped to left and right every time a fixed amount of water is received. The magnets 12 and 12' are fitted at both left and right sides of the lower bottom surface of the tipping bucket 2. Then, the WIEGAND coils 13 and 13' are fitted where the magnets 12 and 12' come closer when the tipping bucket 2 is tipped. Then, the tipping bucket 2 is tipped to left and right alternately to allow the magnets 12 and 12' to approach the coils 13 and 13', and an E/O converter 15 generates light pulses. Thus, the signal is generated without contacting and there is no mechanical fatigue, so the life is prolonged.
