PURPOSE: To regulate the flow rate even during the operation of a twin-screw extruder without stopping it, by making part of a flow rate restricting barrel surrounding the outer circumference of a flow rate restricting screw element thinner so that the gap between said part and the screw element may be changed.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material 32 is conveyed in a barrel 11, and is flowed into a flow rate restricting mechanism by a kneading screw element 18. The mechanism is constructed such that part of the inner section of a flow rate restricting barrel 14 surrounding the outer circumference of a flow rate restricting screw element 19 is made thin in thickness and the movement of the resin at the thinner part 22 may be regulated by a screw 25 inserted in the flow rate restricting barrel 14. That is, since the thinner part 22 is bent up or down by rotating the screw 25, the flow rate can be regulated.
