PURPOSE: To prevent disturbance of vibrating mode and deterioration of an electrode itself of a vibrator by connecting a signal wire to an electrode at a region where no both face electrode of the vibrator of an ultrasonic wave probe is formed.
CONSTITUTION: Both sides of the vibrator 304 are formed with electrodes 302, 303, a side face 301 is coated by an insulating material and an auxiliary member 305 is formed. An auxiliary member face 306 at the electrode 302 on which a matching layer is formed is formed with the same curvature as that of the electrode 302. Then an auxiliary electrode 308 for fitting an electrode is formed on an auxiliary member 307. The auxiliary electrode 308 is connected electrically to the electrode 303. A signal wire 310 is formed to a cylindrical member 309. Electrodes 311 and 308 for fitting electrodes are connected by a conductive adhesives. Then a packing member 312 is formed by impregnating a resin into a space at the inside of the member 309. Then an electrode 313 is formed and connected electrically to the electrode 302. After the matching layer 314 is cured after being flowed onto the electrode 302, the matching layer is polished on the basis of the member 306.
