Abstract:
PURPOSE:To remove the heat energy generated in a flywheel and improve the inertia effect by feeding the cooling gas in the radial direction through vent paths provided on disks of a flywheel and blowing the gas in the opposite direction to the rotating direction of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel 13 comprised of multiple disks 14 is connected to the lower portion of a generator motor 1 through a hollow middle shaft 3, a thrust collar 16 is fitted to the lower end of the flywheel 13, and a partition wall 21 partitioning the oil in a lower bracket 19 is provided on the inner periphery of the collar 16. The cooling gas is fed to the center hole 14a of disks 14 of the flywheel 13 through the partition wall 21, further fed through vent paths 22 formed with multiple curved through holes penetrating the inner periphery and outer periphery of each disk 14 as shown by an arrow B, then blown out into the atmosphere outside the disks 14 in the opposite direction to the rotating direction of a rotor 2.
