Title:
CYLINDER BLOCK FOR V-SHAPED ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6027765
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To raise the workability of the cylinder block of a V-shaped engine by a method in which the cylinder block integrated with the crank case of V- shaped engine is divided into by the center point of left and right-handed banks and the center of the crankshaft hole into two sections, and screw-connected from side at the upper and lower parts of the crankshaft hole.

CONSTITUTION: The left and right-handed banks 1 and 2 of a V-shaped engine are divided along the straight line passing through the central point situated equal distant from the centers of the banks and the center of the crankshaft hole 13 and screw-connected with bolts 5 and 6 and nuts 14 and 15 at the upper and lower parts of the crankshaft hole 13. The left and right-handed banks can thus be solely cast into a simple form. Since the central parts of cylinder bores 8 and 9 can be cast on the parting line of molds, the V-shaped banks 1 and 2 can be obtained without excessive increase of thickness.
