PURPOSE: To allow each user to manage centralizing all terminal equipments used by each user by providing a remote maintenance terminal control function in plural terminal equipments and implementing the maintenance control of other terminal equipments used by the user remotely and collecting maintenance result information.

CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with subscriber lines 12,14 connecting to a digital data exchange network 10 and user side network termination devices (NT) 16,18 connecting to the subscriber lines 12,14. Moreover, two terminal equipments 22,24 connected to the NT 16 via a private line 42 and a remote maintenance terminal equipment 30 is connected to the other NT 18 via a private line 4. Then the terminal equipment provided with the remote maintenance terminal control function set in plural terminal equipments implements maintenance control remotely to other terminal equipment used by the user and collects the maintenance result information relating to the other terminal equipments. Thus, all terminal equipments used for each user are managed centralizingly by each user.
