Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a novel clathrate compound which has excellent durability and can be processed to a water-based preparation, by including 2-n-octyl-4- isocthiazolin-3-one useful as a fungicide and algicide in cyclodextrin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective clathrate compound is obtained, e.g. by including 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one in a cyclic dextrin obtained by treating starch or hydrolyzed starch with cyclodextrin glycosyl transferase.
EFFECT: There is no bleeding of the oily components even after the solidification. The product releases the active component slowly, and has remarkably reduced irritancy to the skin.
