Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable the use of a small-sized step-up transformer, and to eliminate the need for a choke coil by synchronously controlling an inverter driving the step-up transformer by a zero-point detecting output of the driving currents of the step-up transformer. CONSTITUTION:Switching transistors Q1, Q2 are turned ON alternately, and AC currents flow through the primary coil N1 of the step-up transformer 32. A transistor Q3 is turned ON by voltage induced in the secondary coil of a current transformer 33. The transistor Q3 is turned OFF when AC currents are zero, and outputs pulse voltage. A transistor Q4 is turned ON by the pulse voltage, and the oscillator 22 of a control IC 20 is initialized. A ramp wave output formed by the oscillator 22 and an output from an error amplifier obtained by comparing and amplifying voltage from the tertiary coil N3 of the step-up transformer 32 and reference voltage are compared by a comparator, and the transistor Q1 is turned OFF at timing corresponding to the magnitude of the output voltage of the step-up transformer 32.
