PURPOSE: To adjust the developer layer on a carrier body to a prescribed thickness and density by setting the radius of curvature in the part of a member for forming the developer which faces the carrier body at 1W20mm.
CONSTITUTION: A carrier body 3 is provided freely rotatably in a body 2 facing a photosensitive body 1 and a developer 4 consisting of a non-magnetic one- component supplied into the body 3 is adjusted to a developer layer 4' having a prescribed thickness and density by a member 5 for forming the layer. Said layer 4' is conveyed toward the body 1 so as to develop the latent image thereon. The member 5 is formed of a metallic plate consisting of SUS, Al, phosphor bronze, etc. and the radius R of curvature in the part facing the body 3 is set at 1W20mm.
