Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of spark due to the imperfect contact of an anode with an electric conductor in a horizontal electroplating apparatus by installing a guide mechanism for smoothly sliding the anode. CONSTITUTION:When a sliding system anode is used in a horizontal electroplating apparatus, guides, 3, 3 each having a hook-shaped section and extending in the lateral direction of the plating vessel 10 are arranged before and behind the anode 1 in the vessel 10 so as to slide the anode 1 along the guides 3, 3. In the presence of the guides 3, 3 the anode 1 moves parallel and regularly, does not move zigzag, and prevents the generation of spark due to the imperfect contact with electric conductors 2. As a result, a moving steel plate X as a cathode is stably electroplated.
