Abstract:
PURPOSE:To extract efficiently the contour of an object having a complicate pattern internally by designating a graphic form with a run number constituting it and extracting data on only the graphic form again through hardware. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup signal of a television camera 6 is converted into a binary signal, one picture of which is stored in a video memory 21. Simultaneously, the values of the run numbers of all runs (the same run number of a run overlapping the run of the last scan) are stored in a run number storage part 10, and pairs of values of run numbers before and after all confluence points are stored in a confluence run number memory 103. Then, extraction designating run numbers (consisting of concatenate runs) are stored in an output run number specifying part 104. Then, the image in the video memory 21 is scanned again and when its run number is stored, a coincidence signal 104a goes up to ''1''. Thus, only binary-coded data on runs having the extraction designated run numbers are taken out to extract a target graphic form.
