PURPOSE: To synthesize the titled compounds having various kinds of molecular weight from low-molecular weight to high-molecular weight easily in high yield selectively, by reacting a siloxane containing Si-H bond with a halogenated hydrocarbon.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrosiloxane containing Si-H bond is reacted with a halogenated hydrocarbon (e.g., carbon tetrachloride, etc.) using a radical reaction initiator (e.g., dibenzoyl peroxide, etc.) as a catalyst at 20W200°C for 2W48hr, to give the desired compound. (A) A straight-chain hydrosiloxane (e.g., sym-tetramethyldisiloxane, etc.) shown by the formula MDn-1M, (B) cyclic siloxane shown by the formula Dn, etc. may be cited as the hydrosiloxane containing Si-H bond, when a unit shown by the formula R1R2R3Si0.5 is M, a unit shown by the formula R4R5SiO is D, a unit shown by the formula R6SiO1.5 is T, and a unit shown by the formula SiO2 is Q(R1WR6 are alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, halogen or H]. A hydrocarbon such as benzene, etc. may be used as the reaction solvent.
