PURPOSE: To provide mixed asphalt having excellent penetration, softening point, heat resistance, etc. by mixing a solid high-molecular polymer with asphalt and a simultaneously or immediately thereafter adding an ionic surfactant thereto to dissolve them.
CONSTITUTION: A solid high-molecular polymer such as powdered rubber or a powdered synthetic resin is mixed with asphalt such as straight asphalt, blown asphalt or natural asphalt. simultaneously or immediately thereafter, an ionic surfactant having a hydrophilic group having pref. 8W16 hydrocarbons such as a cationic or anionic surfactant is added thereto to dissolve them. By the action of the ionic surfactant, the solid high-molecular polymer is uniformly and rapidly mixed with asphalt to obtain efficiently mixed asphalt having various physical properties.
