PURPOSE: To reduce the titled device in size, especially in thickness and to secure the stable travelling of a magnetic tape and to prevent the magnetic tape from damage by forming the difference of steps between the start point and end point of a section in which the magnetic tape is abutted on a head cylinder, and reducing the inclination of the head cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: The travelling course of the magnetic tape 6 between an inlet side inclined guide post 14 and an outlet side inclined guide post 15 is inclined from a chassis 1 and the inlet side inclined guide post 14 side is formed higher than the outlet side inclined guide post 15 side. Consequently, the angle ψ of inclination of the center axis (a) of the head cylinder 2 from the perpendicular line (b) of the chassis 1 is reduced and the height from the uppermost part of the head cylinder to the chassis 1 is reduced. An erase head 11 and an impedance roller 10 are arranged between a correcting inclined guide post 23 and an inlet side guide roller 13 with inclination along the inclined travelling course.
