PURPOSE: To prevent a cathode-ray tube from being inflicted by unfavorable force by preventing a rotary positional shift of a cathode-ray tube generated when winding round a tension band by plurality of positioning jigs closely touching the side wall part of a face plate.
CONSTITUTION: Supporting metall fittings 4 are arranged at four corners through a not illustrated adhesive tape or the like of the face plate side wall part 3 of the face plate 2 of a cathode-ray tube 1 and a tension band 5 in a heated state is wound round in the direction of an arrow 7 while holding the part near one end thereof by a fixing jig 6 and both ends are fixed near the jig 6 by welding or the like in order to be spanned while utilizing thermal construction at the time of cooling. Thereby, plurality of positioning jigs 8 are put closely to the prescribed position on the side wall part 3 having no influence upon the span of the band 5 in order to stop rotation of the cathode-ray tube. In this way, by preparing the jig 8 in the position far from the sealing surface 9 of the side wall part 3 and near the plate 2, the cathode-ray tube can be prevented from being inflicted by unfavorable force because said part has large thickness while being located in the position having the least change of shape.
