PURPOSE: To generate electronic synthesized sounds having predeterminate tone color and scale to compose a melody by giving frequency division ratio data read out from an external or internal memory to a programmable frequency divider to divide the frequency of the signal from an oscillator with respect to a timer device suitable for generating a synthesized music in accordance with turning-on and off of a power source.
CONSTITUTION: After the turn-on set time of a timer elapses, frequency division ratio data for generation of a scale is read out from an external or internal memory (ROM) by the control of a system controller 1 and is trasferred to a control register 5 by a data bus 2 and an address bus 3. Frequency division ratio data is inputted to programmable frequency dividers 8aW8c to generate a fundamental oscillation and its high frequency simultaneously. The white noise generated in a noise generator 11 has the frequency divided by a programmable frequency divider 8d, and the output signal and output signals of programmable frequency dividers 8aW8c are mixed in a mixer 15 after level matching to generate electronic synthesized sounds having desired scale and tone color.
