PURPOSE: To make a picture easly visible, to improve operability, and to execute easily diagnosis by discriminating the kind of an endoscope to which a camera is installed or image pickup size information, and magnifying or reducing it so that a picture of fixed size is reflcted on a monitor television.
CONSTITUTION: An eyepiece part 3 is provided on an operating part 2 of an endoscope 1, and a camera 4 is installed to the eyepiece part 3 so as to be attachable and detachable. A type display part 6 and a read part 8 are provided so as to correspond to each other of a joint surface of the eyepiece part 3 and camera 4, terminal pins 11a, 11b are short-circuited or insulated by only installing the camera 4 to the eyepiece part 3, and by this combination, an endoscope discriminating circuit 12 can discriminate a type of the endoscope 1. A discriminating signal from the endoscope discriminting circuit 12 is magnified or reduced by picture processing in a camera control unit 14, and is reflected on a monitor television 15 by a fixed picture size, therefore, even in a place distance from the monitor television 15, its picture can be observed easily.
