PURPOSE: To pour a molten metal under the specified pressure into the cavity of a casting mold and to obtain a good casting having no casting defect by providing means for moving vertically a freely bendable cylinder for the molten metal between the upper and lower positions of the cavity.

CONSTITUTION: A lower metallic mold 14 and an upper metallic mold 15 are mated. A vessel 8 for a molten metal is extended upward and the molten metal is poured through a molten metal discharging hole 5 and a molten metal pouring hole 14a into the cavity 13a of a casting mold and at the same time the state thereof is maintained for a specified time to exert pressure on the molten metal in the cavity 13a. A cylinder 10 is extended upon solidifying of the molten metal to bend the cylinder 8 until the molten metal level in a vessel 7 for the molten metal 7 and the cylinder 8 is brought to the position lower than the cavity 13a, thereby spearating the molten metal in the cavity 13 from the molten metal in the vessel 7. The casting is thereafter parted from the mold and is taken out.
