CONSTITUTION: A lead storage battery is formed by alternately arranging positive electrodes (a) and negative electrodes (c) transversely and longitudinally within a porous squares-shaped body (d) made of a polyethylene fiber and a glass fiber, and mutually connecting the positive electrodes (a) to a collecting body (e) on the upper part and the negative electrode (c) to a collecting body (f) on the lower part. Accordingly, it is possible to make the distribution of an electric current longitudinally and transversely uniform along with the improvement of the electric performance by raising the availability of an active material, enabling the manufacture to be simplified with the omission of separator insertion work.
