PURPOSE: A resin composition that is prepared by adding silicic acid or its salt or fibrous reinforcing material to a polyester resin mixture containing isophthalic acid components in a certain range, thus showing high adhesion to metal- plate coatings.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A thermoplastic polyester resin made from the acid component consisting of 2W100, preferably 5W60mol% isophthalic acid and 0W98, preferably 40W95mol% terephthalic acid and from the glycol component mainly consisting of ethylene glycol preferably more than 80%, is mixed with (B) a thermoplastic resin mainly consisting of recurring units of ethylene terephthalate (preferably more than 75mol%). Then, 100pts.wt. of the mixture are kneaded together with (C) 3W90pts. of silicic acid and/or silicate salt and (D) 0W100pts. of fibrous reinforcing material. The mixing ratio of component A to B is determined so that the amount of isophthalic acid component becomes 2W20mol% based on the total acid component.
