PURPOSE: To improve the automatic circulation speed of a manuscript, shorten copying time and simplify the mechanism of the titled machine by setting up a manuscript glass plate having the scanning length while, adding a margin to the maximum copying size or the length extended slightly longer than the scanning size.

CONSTITUTION: A reflecting plate is fitted under a fixed manuscript glass plate 2 and a light source 3 to be moved along the manuscript glass plate 2 together with the 1st mirror 7 is mounted. The light source 3 has the scanning transition distance in the direction of the arrow 5 and the distance is determined by adding a margin to the both ends of manuscript length of the maximum copying size. A manuscript to be circulated of which size is smaller than that of the maximum copying size is scanned on a fixed position of the manuscript board through slit exposure by the light source 3 moved to the end part of the glass plate 2. Thus, continuous scanning is made available, the copying time is shorten and the copying mechanism is simplified.
