PURPOSE: To prevent video misrecording and to avoid the increase in power consumption of a power supply, by providing a switch sensing the accessing or contact of the operator and allowing a camera to operate the video recording when said switch and an operating switch of a camera for video recording are returned on.

CONSTITUTION: A touch switch SW1 operated when an eye finder of a video camera 1 is observed is provided on an eye cap 2 fitted to the finder. The switch SW1 is connected to an internal power supply Vcc via a resistor R0 and the other end is grounded, and a time constant circuit consisting of a resistor R1 and a capacitor C is formed to the switch SW1. When the switch SW1 is applied for a prescribed period, a touch signal VT with a decreased voltage is obtained and an operating signal VREC is inputted to an AND circuit 6. A video recording signal VOUT is outputted from a circuit 6 only while both signals VT and VREC are inputted for attaining the video recording of the camera 1.
