Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease generation of spatter and to improve working efficiency of welding in arc welding which accompanies short circuiting and arc regeneration by determining the high current and the time for holding the high current in the stage of arc regeneration according to the function for the feed rate of a welding wire.

CONSTITUTION: The output of a welding power source, i.e., the high current IAP and the time TAP for holding the high current in the stage of arc regeneration are determined according to the function f(WFR) for the feed rate of a welding wire WFR. The function f(WFR) is expressed by the equation I in which the values m, n can be set arbitrarily. It is equally effective to change said values according to the kind and diameter of the welding wire.
